Vintage Canvasback Duck Decoy, Michigan, stamped "JRW", rasped w/ carve marks

Description

Here's a handsome canvasback drake, probably from Michigan, as it has the broad flat bottom and vertical dead rise associated with that style.  The body has been rasp finished and the head has carve marks under the paint.  I can't tell if the paint is original or whether it's been repainted.  Measures 17 1/8" long and is rather on the heavy side.  Still, a good looking bird with glass eyes and applied lead ballast weight, that may not be original as the decoy looks to have had a keel or another, longer weight at one time.  Has a few tight body cracks.  Stamped on the bottom twice with "JRW".
