Flying male (red cheek patch) pileated woodpecker wood carving in a free hanging setting, "Casey's Flyers", handcarved and painted by Casey Edwards in his antique/vintage style. This beauty measures life-size at 17" long and 20" wing tip to wing tip with carved and painted feather detail throughout, having a raised and turned head, curved and cupped wings, a semi-fanned tail (notice the barbs at the end of the tail which they use for support when climbing trees), and great detail in the face. The eyes screws are situated so that this majestic woodpecker hangs so that you can more easily see both the topside and the underside carved and feathered detail at the same time as it is swooping through the forest.
